The course is also designed to train staff in your fire safety procedures.Fire safety training helps to protect your business. It ensures everyone knows how to act safely, reducing the risk of injury or loss of life in the event of a blaze. Basic fire-fighting techniques can also help to prevent small fires from becoming big emergencies.This Fire Safety Training module is designed to teach you preventive measures that will eliminate or minimize causes of fire or fire hazards in the workplace, and to teach you proper emergency and evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.An effective manner of presentation is to develop a technique of giving information
and then reinforcing it. For example, first tell the trainees briefly what you are going
to present to them; then cover the topic in detail; and, finally, summarize what you
have told them. The use of an overhead projector and the distribution of copies of
the transparencies as trainees’ handouts contribute to the learning process.The Fire Safety Management Course is a self-learning course located on the International Training Centre ILO e-campus website. It is designed to provide employers, workers and their representatives, as well as others with roles and duties with regards to fire safety with information to enable them to verify that adequate measures are in place to prevent fires occurring, to detect a fire should it occur and to enable all occupants of the building to be efficiently and safely evacuated.
